For Patients

Iowa Heart Center is now offering a variety of services to its current patients, future patients, and the general public through its web site. Signing up for services is quick and easy.

Established Patients (patients seen before by an Iowa Heart healthcare provider)

For current patients, several questions are asked to help establish your identity with Iowa Heart Center. After initial registration, limited access is provided to email a care provider or request an appointment. A pin is sent to your home within a week. Once you receive your pin and verify your identity online, increased access is provided to your personal health information.

Features for established patients include:

1. Send questions and receive answers about your care, prescriptions, billing or other topics to an Iowa Heart nurse or patient service representative.
2. View open appointment slots and request a new appointment with an Iowa Heart Center physician.
3. View appointments that have already been scheduled.*
4. Check your last statement*, see your current balance and pay your bill online.
5. View and manage your online email subscriptions. Subscribe to a variety of Iowa Heart information sources, including the HeartBeat, a quarterly publication featuring Iowa Heart Center patients, physicians and services.
6. Access detailed cardiovascular health information online, including more than 400 detailed articles on cardiovascular conditions, diseases, and procedures.

* These features require that you verify your identity through pin confirmation.

Future Patients (patients who plan to be seen by an Iowa Heart healthcare provider)

1. Register for services with Iowa Heart Center online.
2. Request an appointment online.
3. View and manage your online email subscriptions. Subscribe to a variety of Iowa Heart information sources, including the HeartBeat, a quarterly publication featuring Iowa Heart Center patients, physicians and services.
4. Access detailed cardiovascular health information online, including more than 400 detailed articles on cardiovascular conditions, diseases, and procedures.

General Public (people who are not patients, but are interested in a heart-healthy lifestyle)

1. View and manage your online email subscriptions. Subscribe to a variety of Iowa Heart information sources, including the HeartBeat, a quarterly publication featuring Iowa Heart Center patients, physicians and services.
