Dr. Gordon is a native of Warren, Ohio, who graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland before going to New York City where he spent 10 years undergoing medical and cardiology training.
His initial medical training was at the New York University School of Medicine. This was followed by an internship at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, residencies at Manhattan Veterans Administration Hospital and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and a cardiology fellowship at Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Gordon came to Des Moines in 1968 and founded the medical practice now known as Iowa Heart Center two years later. He is interested in all areas of cardiology, and has written extensively on the subject.
Dr. Gordon is board certified in cardiology, and currently practices at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines.
