Q: Will I have testing done the same day as my appointment?

Answer:

If testing is not already scheduled prior to your appointment, it is unlikely it will occur the same day.

Q: Why might I be asked to see a nurse practitioner instead of my cardiologist?

Answer:

Midlevel providers are Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who work closely with your cardiologist to manage your care. The Midlevel Providers are able to prescribe medications and order testing as needed. Our midlevel practitioners have years of experience in cardiovascular care making them a great resource and extension of our cardiologists.

Q: What do I do when I need a prescription refill?

Answer:

Please call your pharmacy. They will contact our office.

Q: How long will I have to be on anticoagulation medicine? Ie., Plavix/Coumadin?

Answer:

This varies with each person. Always follow your physician’s directions and do not stop taking these medications for any reasons without talking to the prescribing physician first.
