Iowa Heart Center's surgeons are leaders, nationally, in providing advanced surgical techniques for Iowa patients and their families. Coronary Artery Bypass Graft

Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) is a surgical procedure in which one or more blocked coronary arteries are bypassed by a blood vessel graft to restore normal blood flow to the heart.
Heart Valve Replacement/Repair

Ross Procedure

The Ross procedure involves switching your pulmonary valve to the aortic valve position and then placing a pulmonary homograft - a valve that has been removed from a donated human heart, preserved and frozen under sterile conditions.
Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery

Minimally invasive heart surgery (also called keyhole surgery) is performed through small incisions, sometimes using specialized surgical instruments.

Robotically assisted technology allows surgeons to perform certain types of complex heart surgeries with smaller incisions and precise motion control, offering patients excellent outcomes.
