Electrophysiology services
Electrophysiology is the study of the heart's electrical system.
Iowa Heart Center electrophysiologists treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms, called arrhythmias. Treatment options range from medications, to implantable pacemakers and defibrillators, to ablation therapy to eliminate the source of irregular heartbeats.
Iowa Heart implants more pacemakers and defibrillators, and does more ablation procedures than any group in Iowa. Its electrophysiologists are also leaders, nationally, in evaluating new devices and treatment options for their patients.
Electrophysiology consultations and procedures are available at our offices adjacent to Mercy, Methodist and Lutheran medical centers in Des Moines, Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, and Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
If you have questions about Iowa Heart Center's electrophysiology program, contact the office of your choice or call (515) 235-5000.
