Interventional Cardiology

Interventional cardiology uses cardiac catheterization to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Procedures are performed in our state-of-the-art catheterization laboratories. This approach allows doctors to work through tiny incisions, reducing hospitalization, pain and recovery time for patients.
Catheterization procedures include:
- Coronary and Peripheral
- Angiography
- Angioplasty
- Atherectomy
- Stenting
- Carotid Stenting
- PFO (patent foramen ovale) / ASD (atrial septal defects) closures
- Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)
- Brachytherapy
- Valvuloplasty
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implant (TAVI)
Iowa Heart Center offers catheterization services at several central Iowa hospitals.
