All patients will be screened for COVID-19 related symptoms, upon entering one of our locations. If you have an appointment scheduled over the next few weeks for a routine office visit or test, our staff will be calling you to discuss the necessity of your appointment at this time. If you have symptoms or concerns that need to be addressed prior to our call, please contact the office via phone or patient portal message.
Telehealth Virtual Visits
Your health is our priority. Patients with cardiovascular disease are at increased risk of complications from COVID-19, coronavirsus. We are excited to begin offering telehealth virtual visits so we can reduce your exposure while continuing to manage your cardiovascular health.
With this technology, you are able to communicate with a provider from the comfort of your own home through your own personal device. To participate, you must have access to a smartphone, tablet or computer with Internet and/or cellular data connection with video capabilities. In some cases, only a phone may be needed.
Telehealth visits are HIPPA compliant and are covered by most insurances.
If you are interested in participating in a telehealth virtual visit, please call your local Iowa Heart Center office or send a message via your patient portal account to get started. Our staff will walk you through the process and provide instructions. Also, if you are unsure whether an in-person or telemedicine visit is appropriate, feel free to call us as well, and we will guide you through the decision.
Your health is our primary concern. We are offering this option to help reduce your risk and exposure, and maintain the management of your cardiovascular health.
If you are experiencing cardiovascular symptoms or cocnerns, please keep your appointment either virtually or in-person. You may be called prior to your scheduled appointment to evaluate your condition. If coming in person, you will be screened upon arrival to the clinic for COVID-19 symptoms, and if you have a fever and cough, you may be redirected to your primary care physician for proper evaluation.
Our outreach and mobile testing services are suspended at this time until further notice.
Clinic Visitor Restrictions:
Our primary concern is the health and safety of our patients, visitors and colleagues.Because patients with cardiovascular disease are at increased risk of complications from COVID-19, the Coronavirus, we are implementing the following precautions:
- We are limiting visitors/support people to 1 person per adult patient until further notice. The visitor must be at least 16 years of age and also have had no fever or cough in the last 7 days. They may also be screened upon arrival and if necessary, asked to return to their vehicle. (Each hospital may have its own visitor restriction policy that may vary from ours).
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time!
