Officials with Van Diest Medical Center (VDMC) and MercyOne Iowa Heart Center are proud to announce a collaboration of cardiology services. The MercyOne Iowa Heart Center Fort Dodge office is moving to Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. The partnership will allow for a full range of outpatient cardiac services to be provided at VDMC, expanding Iowa Heart’s presence in Webster City and the surrounding region.

Starting Monday, October 21, 2024, MercyOne Iowa Heart Center will begin seeing patients in their new location at VDMC on a full-time basis. The Iowa Heart cardiology clinic will have services provided by cardiologists from both Ames and Des Moines. The office hours for the Cardiology Clinic will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Patients can continue to schedule appointments and contact the office by calling 515-574-8700.

“Van Diest Medical Center is excited to announce the establishment of a fulltime MercyOne Iowa Heart cardiac clinic within our organization.  This shows our commitment to promoting health and wellness for our communities,” said Lisa Ridge, Chief Executive Officer at VDMC. “By providing access to cardiac care, we aim to enhance early detection and prevention of heart-related issues.”

In addition to cardiac related consult and follow-up appointments, MercyOne Iowa Heart Center will offer echocardiograms, electrophysiology (EP) device checks, nuclear cardiac stress tests, and their nuclear camera will be moved for nuclear cardiology imaging as well.

"MercyOne Iowa Heart Center is excited to expand our services in Webster City at Van Diest Medical Center and provide high-quality cardiovascular care and expertise to the community and surrounding region," said Robert Gavora, Chief Administrative Officer for MercyOne Iowa Heart Center. "Our team looks forward to continuing to care for current patients and getting the opportunity to serve new ones while enhancing health care accessibility in the region."

Patients seeking services at the new Iowa Heart cardiology clinic at the new VDMC location are asked to use the Emergency Department entrance to access the registration desk. Assistance will be available to help with wayfinding.

“Our goal is to foster a healthier future for everyone we serve. Together, we can continue to make a significant impact on the well-being of our community,” Ridge said.

MercyOne Iowa Heart Center providers and staff are no longer seeing patients at 800 Kenyon Road in Fort Dodoge.
