Dr. Mark McGaughey, a native of New Berlin, WI, holds an undergraduate degree from Carleton College in Minnesota, and a medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
He then completed an internship, residency and cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and served for a year on the cardiology faculty.
Dr. McGaughey now practices at both our West University and Laurel offices and does procedures at Mercy West Lakes hospital. He also specializes in valvuloplasty, a procedure that uses a catheter to open blocked heart valves.
Dr. McGaughey joined Iowa Heart Center in 1985. He is board certified in general and interventional cardiology.
